Meet the Team
owner
Ryan Beggs
Ryan started First Peak Contracting in 2017 after 10 years of carpentry experience. He initially trained as a Civil Engineering technologist (2006). Here he built a solid foundation in project management, drafting, mathematical skills and computer automated design software.
In 2008 Ryan completed a Timber Frame program through the College of the Rockies. Here he turned his theory based math and computer skills into creative design and craftsmanship. He took a position with BC Timber Frame and became an integral team player in the construction of over 30 houses. Ryan continued to work with BCTF until starting up First Peak Contracting.
What sets Ryan apart from most carpenters is his thoughtful, calculated approach. He spends the time to plan out every detail for the execution phase allowing for smoother processes and fewer errors. He often utilizes 3D design software to communicate with not only our team, but clients as well.
Ryan is constantly learning and currently is working towards his builders license.
Foreman
Chris Evans
Chris is a hard working journeyman & Red Seal carpenter. He is a hands on leader, overseeing development schedules, coordinating materials, and ensuring a high standard of work. He brings with him extensive carpentry experience as he owned and operated a framing/forming company for 12 years.
Chris will strive for solid communication with home owners to ensure the project is in line with their goals.
When Chris isn't working, you will probably find him biking the local trails with his two teenage sons!
Apprentice Carpenter
Ian Colvil
Ian is an efficient, detail orientated carpenter. He values professional relationships and precise communication. First Peak is honoured to work with Ian as he completes his journeyman carpentry certificate.
When not working, Ian can be found exploring the beautiful outdoors with his family. He is often found hiking in the Crumpit Woods with his son on his back.
Carpenter
Jean-Francois Brodeur
Jean-Francois is an organized and meticulous carpenter. His favourite type of work would ideally include large timber. He has plenty of previous experience hand cutting beams, assembly, and finishing timber. Jean-Francois has various timberframe certifications including the Timber Frame Certificate from Island School of Building Arts.
No matter the project, JF will bring a respectful presence to your home and worksite. He is a great team member and simply put – loves to swing a hammer.
Accounts/Administrative Manager
Brittany Beggs
Brittany’s role includes all the behind the scenes administrative tasks. Trained as a nurse, she has excellent task management and organization skills. As a client, you will see this through clear, prompt invoicing. Brittany is also managing contracts, legal concerns, bookkeeping and payroll.
When not working with FPC, Brittany is spending her time providing services for sexual health through Options clinics.
